Bloem
Project Brief
The goal of the “Bloem” project is to develop a compact, acoustically optimized relaxation pod that can be used in modern work and learning environments. The pod is designed to allow users to briefly shut themselves off from their surroundings, reduce stress and recharge their energy. The focus is on combining functionality, user experience, and sustainability.
The project requirements are:
Sustainability: Use of eco-friendly, recycled or natural materials to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible.
Functionality: Effective sound insulation both inward and outward, as well as a compact design that can be easily integrated into existing spaces.
Experience & User Comfort: Creating a pleasant atmosphere through elements such as dimmed lighting, a calm design and optional soothing sounds to support targeted relaxation periods of 5–15 minutes.
Technological Integration: Simple, supportive technologies such as lighting control or sound systems, without unnecessarily complicating usage.
Accessibility: Intuitive use without training, allowing the capsule to be used spontaneously during the workday.
Durability & Maintenance: Robust materials and a well-thought-out design that enables easy cleaning, maintenance and long-term use.
Impact: Promotion of mental well-being, reduction of stress and support for short recovery periods during the workday.
